What is SEROS

SEROS is a research centre located in Stavanger, Norway. The Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety (SEROS) was established by the University of Stavanger (UiS) and the International Research Institute of Stavanger (IRIS) on January 1st 2009.

The centres research embraces the overall themes as well as the relationship between:

  • Risk Management
  • Societal Safety
Study programmes

The SEROS staff is involved in a range of study programmes, including the interdiciplinary PhD programme in Risk Management and Societal Safety, five diciplinary Master programmes as well as several Bachelor programmes at the University of Stavanger.

In collaboration with UiS Pluss the centre also offers an exclusive part time master programme for highly qualified and motivated applicants.
